Gerard “Jerry” Dehner Jr. is the Founder and Managing Partner of Cornovus Capital, where he leads the firm’s national business development platform. With more than 28 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, Jerry oversees the firm’s advisory, bridge, CMBS, and SBA capital programs—providing clients with strategic debt placement and transaction execution nationwide.

Under Jerry’s leadership, Cornovus Capital has become a trusted advisor to business owners, investors, and operators across a wide range of industries. He has structured and underwritten hundreds of transactions spanning all 50 states, including complex bridge, repositioning, refinancing, and permanent loan executions. His experience extends across hospitality, multifamily, and owner-user asset classes, where he is known for crafting creative, tailored solutions that meet clients’ long-term strategic and capital objectives.

Prior to founding Cornovus Capital, Jerry co-founded Hyde Park Commercial Group, where he played a pivotal role in expanding commercial lending opportunities during the 2007 economic downturn. His leadership contributed to the establishment of more than 20 regional and national lender relationships—focusing on enterprise financing, business acquisitions, and commercial real estate debt placement.

Jerry’s deep industry involvement—from underwriting and debt structuring to ownership and repositioning—has provided him with a comprehensive understanding of both capital markets and property operations. His ability to align strategic financing with real-world operational insight enables Cornovus Capital to deliver institutional-level execution with boutique responsiveness.

Jerry earned his degrees in Business, Finance, and Real Estate Studies from the University of Cincinnati and Ashford University. Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time with his wife Patty and family, along with boating, fishing, and exploring destinations on the water. His dedication to transparency, communication, and client advocacy continues to define Cornovus Capital’s culture of precision and trust.
